Prague Food Diary Week 8: Sicily

Here it is! This post is going to be different than my other posts, simply because 1. I don’t remember the names of the restaurants  (I know I suck) and 2. I ate a lot of similar food over and over again.

Phase one is Pizza:

Yo. Pizza is my life blood. It courses through my veins. Pizza and I are one. Sicily didn’t disappoint in the pizza department, or any department, but especially the pizza one. I eat pizza like a billion times a week back home and man was this pizza good. The cheese to sauce ratio was golden, the prosciutto was salty and paper thin, and I was the happiest gal in the universe.

Phase 2: Pasta

If pizza is my blood than pasta is the air I breathe. I eat it pretty much every day without fail in some capacity. JUST LOOK AT THE PASTA MAN. I can still taste the carbonara. Now I just really want pasta.

I licked every plate clean and had no regrets about it. It was spring break so the calories don’t count, right?

Phase 3: Tomatoes, Cheese, and Meats

My roommates made this one morning for breakfast while I ate the leftover bread. YUM

Do I really have to say anything? I think the pictures speak for themselves here. Just stare at them for a while.

Public gardens (!?)

This is a picture of that mountain from the Godfather. You know the one.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A SKY THAT BLUE!? Peep the stylish Italian couple.

Phase 4: Dessert

I saved the best for last, although I didn’t take any pictures of the copious amounts of gelato I ate because I always ate it way to fast to take a picture 😦

Lemon Italian ice is the most refreshing thing in the history of the world. I don’t need to explain that.

Cannoli’s and I have quite the relationship. There was a period of time (last year) where I may or may not have eaten 11 full sized cannoli’s in one sitting and was fully incapacitated for the rest of the day. If it wasn’t for my lactose intolerance I would have continued on to 12 I am sure of it.

And that, in a terribly out of order nutshell, was my trip to Sicily! I stayed true to my promise and got a tan, or more of a sunburn which turned into a tan.

Next weekend I will be meeting my mother and her bff in Ireland! As usual, let me know of any good places to eat, especially because my mother is a vegan!
